Sarah Sandberg is the senior director of communications and public affairs for DCP Midstream. She oversees and leads DCP’s external and internal communications, crisis communications, public affairs and media relations, stakeholder relations, brand management, and community outreach and investment.
She previously served as the Chief Operating Officer for the Colorado Oil & Gas Association (COGA), and was responsible for COGA’s financial direction, day-to-day operations, board management, events, programs, local regulatory engagement, outreach, and communication. In this role, Ms. Sandberg helped establish COGA as a leader in innovative programming and authentic engagement strategies. Additionally, Sandberg served as Conference Director for The Energy Summit, a prominent energy conference in the West.
Born and raised in Baton Rouge, prior to COGA, Sandberg previously worked on communications and outreach within the Louisiana Governor’s Office, including assisting with the Deepwater Horizon oil spill response efforts and several hurricanes. She received her bachelor’s degree from the University of Colorado, Boulder and her Masters of Business Administration through the Executive MBA program at University of Denver’s Daniels College of Business.
Sandberg is an avid supporter of the community. She serves as the chair of the American Red Cross’ Associate Board, and chair of the City Year Denver Associate Board. She co-chairs the American Heart Association’s “Bring STEM to Life” committee in Colorado and is the chair of the Energy Generation (EnGen) Leadership Program. In 2017 she was named an Oil & Gas Investor “40 under 40” honoree.
