Lia Fields is an Engineering Technician in the Subsurface and Development department for Bonanza Creek Energy. At Bonanza Creek, her focus is non-op research and reporting, data analysis, as well as developing and project managing the permitting process for the company’s Colorado assets. Prior to joining Bonanza Creek, Lia worked for five years as an Engineering Technician in the Completions department for Halcon Resources on both their North Dakota and West Texas assets. A graduate from Washington State University, she received a B.S in Genetics and Cell Biology and a B.S in Biochemistry. Prior to moving to Colorado in 2013, she worked in a lab funded by the NIH and Bill and Melinda Gates foundation developing HIV vaccines. Lia currently sits on the Board of the Women in Oil and Gas Association and has the privilege of leading the 2018 and 2019 Lean In programs.
Outside the office, Lia is an active volunteer and coordinator for multiple children’s organizations. She also has a small, eco-focused business raising and selling composting worms. Lia keeps her mind and body active by doing rigorous kettle bell workouts and practicing Brazilian Jiu-jitsu (and remodeling her house).
